Some people seem to catch every last bug that is doing the rounds yet others appear to benefit from greater immunity. Sometimes it is obvious that the difference is not robustness of health but rather due to abstinence from mingling in the varied environments where sniffs and snivels are being passed around.
But we all know of somebody who does mix in all of those bug-infested environments and yet seems to be blessed with immunity from these lesser but still uncomfortable and irritating maladies. On the flip side of the coin we will all be aware of another person who apparently catches anything that is going around even if they just breathe one breath of bug infested air.
What makes the difference? Sometimes it is genetic disposition. You may well simply have very good healthy genes (or unhealthy ones). You may also have built a strong level of immunity whilst growing up. There are also some common sense elements that come into play. Ensuring that you are dressed appropriately for the environment you are in and eating a well-balanced and nutritious diet also serve to protect your body against disease.
Stress is an additional element that should be taken into account, although it is often overlooked in its capacity to exacerbate ones ability to succumb to disease. It has to be remembered that all stress hormones are immuno-suppressive.
The hormones that are triggered in the fight and flight response to stress are all immediate ones. They are activated instantly and take precedence over other hormones that are involved in the immune system and long-term survival instincts.
Stress comes in many shapes and forms and affects each person in their own unique and individual way. What is stressful to one person may be a source of excitement to another. A roller coaster ride is probably a good example here. Some people love them whilst others hate them.
If you are lacking in confidence or suffer from anxiety even a supposedly mundane and every-day situation can become extremely stressful. These are the sources of stress that are more difficult to avoid and can excite a person’s fight or flight hormones into incessant activity to the inevitable detriment of their immune system.
If you suffer from stress in relation to any situation it is vitally important to your health to take a step back and examine what is really going on. Stress is only triggered as a result of the way in which you view the relevant circumstances. Stress is related to your perspective.
Hypnosis is an invaluable tool in assisting a person to relax, relieve stress, and to see things from a different angle. Hypnosis is natural and it is easy to use. It can help a person to build confidence and to overcome anxiety. Not only that, medical research has also shown how hypnosis can offer major assistance in promoting speedier recovery from both illness and surgery. Thus hypnosis can be used both to prevent disease and to assist in recovery from disease.
