How to Become Recession Proof in 2009

In the midst of all the doom and gloom I still believe that not only is the future bright but in our present time right now we can have power. And that is why I have together the four keys of making yourself recession proof in 2009. I have faith that if you not only lean but apply these keys then you can come out of the dark place you may be in now and into a new landscape of personal and professional success. Let’s get started.

In times like this there is no doubt that there is very much confusion going on. Will I keep my house? Will I keep my job? Are my investments completely down the toilet? All of this uncertainty leads to some very negative outcomes. When you are stressed out and uncertain your ability to see clearly and make healthy decisions rapidly deteriorates. And when that happens one bad thing continues to follow another. As uncertain as things may be that is no excuse to allow the things that are potentially within your grasp to slip through your fingers.

So having mental clarity here is key. You have to know what your options are. And you have to know what things you are in control of. The more clarity you can gain about your situation both personally and professionally the more power you’re going to have in shaping your results in those categories. In this clarity will give you peace of mind, and it will also give you better decision-making power. Along with that it will give you certainty and one of the most important states to being in at times like this, is a state of absolute certainty. Do not let the media, or your coworkers, or your friends, or your family bring you down or cloud your vision. The power and the opportunity are there but you have to be in such a place mentally where you can see them and grab them.

We have a new president in office who makes promises of change. Some people are thrilled by this, and some people believe it is untrue. Yet the fact remains that the most successful people in history did not allow their success to depend on outside conditions.

Did you know that during the Great Depression there were more millionaires created at that time than ever in US history? The reason for that is that these entrepreneurs did not see misery they did not decide to focus on how bad things were, quite to the contrary they looked to see where the opportunity was and if they did not see one they created one. Now that is determination and that is an absolute crucial component to having success whether the economy is good or bad. That is simply an ingredient of success.

There is no doubt that times will be hard, there is no doubt that you will be put to the test. But the funny thing about us humans is that when we are forced off against a wall and giving no choice but to either crumble or succeed, our history shows us that the majority of the time we can win. When someone absolutely must do something the chances are that they will. Determination is that little voice inside that says no matter how large the challenges before you if you are willing to give everything you have and settle for nothing less than victory and you can and will win. Begins at think about how you can turn that little voice into an echoing battle cry that will resonate through your soul and the universe.

At times like this there is no doubt that you must work hard to get what you want. However, it is also equally important to be able to work smart. And the way you do that the best is to be a team player. Surely your efforts alone are mighty, although imagine your self teamed up with people who are just like you. People who have the same purpose and drive to see a brighter day. That my friend is how you create serious progress. Truly no great task has ever been done all alone, and for the United States and the world as a whole to rise out of these dark times we must use the synergy of teamwork to shape a new landscape from which we can all stand and gaze upon a bright and prosperous horizon.

Begin to exercise your ability to be a team player. Think about how you can begin to become even better at working with other people. They say two heads are better than one, and because that is true the more heads you get together the better it is. In every aspect of your life begin to think about how you can contribute as a team player. It is difficult at times like this to think beyond our self, when our homes, our jobs, and our financial security is at risk. Yet these are the times more than any other time that require us to come together. Commit yourself to being a team player and I guarantee you, you will shortly see the fruits of your labor.

More than anything at this time, at this very moment even the most important key for you to learn and directly apply to your life is a responsibility. Everyone wants to wait for things to change. They want to wait for the government to fix everything. I am here to tell you that if you solely wait for the powers that be to change everything then you are going to be waiting a very long time. Your life and the results of your life have more to do with your personal decisions and ability to take action than anything else, and don’t ever forget that. Mahatma Gandhi once said: “ be the change you would like to see in the world.” If anything that quote is even more true now than it was then. There is a lot of change that needs to be done, a lot of the work that needs to be done. But if you are not personally willing to be responsible for that change, and to stand up and make a decision to do the work. Then my friend and we have already lost. At times like this you have to become more than who you are, you have to live up to the great potential that is within you. If you want things to change especially in your personal life and you must take the bull by the horns and pave your own way to victory. This is not a simple solution, yet the formula for victory never is.

The ability to stretch your self is a total must. The philosophy of stretching is doing something for your self personally or professionally that will enhance you in some way shape or form even though it may scare you the most. Its that true for most of us though? The things we know we need to do to help us excel are also the very things that scare us most. But remember this friend, they only scare you because secretly that fear is trying to tell you that you are on the verge of a breakthrough and bigger and better results are right around the corner. So seek out and find the things that you may be afraid to do in these times, chances are those are the things that must be done.

Go forth with confidence, for you know that inside you lies a power that is greater than any challenge you could ever face. Make the decision today to live your life in happiness and power, rather than fear and doubt. Do this my friend and you will unfold a new chapter in history, one where we can all look back on these hard times and remember the voice of triumph that boldly shouted – We can win!
