How to become confident

Grow your self-confidence

With self-confidence, it’s easier to make friends and shyness will not be an issue. You’ll be able to impress your superiors. You’ll have the courage to do what others think not possible or shy away from it.
It might not be as easy as it sounds. Growing your self-confidence might take a life time in the making. So, instead of failing, you might want to start slow.
Take slow steps in gaining your confidence. Start with small things. Here are a few pointers and things that might enable you to deal with people.
• Always smile to strangers in the street. Do not let your shyness get the best of you.
• When a friend introduces you to new people, smile and speak your mind.
• Make a joke when the situation gets awkward.

So, dealing with strangers is not as hard as it seems after all. All you have to do is smile and be yourself.
Now, it comes to a more complex part where you have to convince yourself that you have to express your thoughts and ideas. It might seem too complicated but with a little effort you will be able to. But first, here are things you can do to express yourself easier than before.
• Write down your feelings and ideas on a piece of paper. It will help you later on to explain them easily.
• Tell people closest to you how you feel, or explain an idea to them. With time, it will help develop the ability to speak your mind to people you know less.

The hardest part is to convince yourself that you can do this or that. While that does not require outside interference, it requires a lot of work. You need to have the ability and requirements to do a specific job in order to be able to have it. Other than that, you need to block any other emotional thought. In other words, you need to be professional.
Sometimes work will not be the only thing that requires the professional set of mind. You should treat everything you do more professionally, do not multitask. Here are a few things you could do.
• Test yourself before approaching a task. If you can do it, then start thinking of the accomplishment.
• Take pointers and accept advice.
• Believe in yourself.

Believing in your own abilities is the only way you’ll be able to do something that you didn’t think you could do before.
When you look at yourself and claim that you are missing something, you always put yourself down. When you look at yourself the next time, look at what you have, it will always make you feel better. When you find your weaknesses, work hard to make them your points of strength.
Get over your failed attempts, start fresh. When you fail, take advantage of your failure and make the reason for your new success.
Let go of what puts you down. You will never reach the success you want if you let people influence your mood or if you allow them to make you feel down. You will never have confidence if you listen to what others say about your looks or abilities. The words you hear that make you feel down should only be turned around to be your motivation.
Your confidence is a tool to reach your goals, to date the girl you always had feelings for, to obtain the career you always dreamt of. Your confidence is what qualifies you to be accepted.
