Easy Relaxation Tips

I was reminded yesterday that one of the easiest and quickest ways in which to de-stress is to smile. Whatever is going on in your mind is reflected in your body and this is also true in reverse. Thus as you stretch your facial muscles into a big wide smile, your entire bodily system will be positively effected. Your mind will also begin to smile!

In a similar manner, if you are feeling dispirited you are likely to discover that your shoulders have become rounded, your head is hanging down and your entire body is sagging. To stand tall and hold your head high is an easy fix that will lift your spirits as well as your muscles.

Our breath is also an incredibly powerful source. We are all familiar with the way in which breathing quickens when stressed or anxious and slows down to a far deeper rhythm when we are relaxed or ready to sleep. If you are feeling stressed it is very easy to turn your attention to your breathing and to focus upon lengthening each breath. Simply count to 5 on your inhale and 5 on your exhale and you will immediately experience a calming effect.

Different breathing techniques can be used to produce different results. You can heat your body or cool your mind simply through your breath, and many other effects in between! To learn more about breathing and to be able to utilize varied techniques is a very worthwhile goal.

In meditation and hypnosis your breathing settles down into a calm and rhythmic pattern. As you relax in hypnosis you can also utilize suggestions to further promote feelings of balance, relaxation, calmness and comfort. You can learn to use hypnosis quickly and easily in the comfort of your own home simply by listening to a hypnosis recording. Most people do not realize how easy it is to use or how restorative it’s effect.

There are many, many different ways in which a person can learn to unwind and relax. Stress is frequently linked with a feeling of being out of control. Including some appropriate exercise in your daily routine allows you to feel more in control of your body and this also benefits your mind. Eating a healthy diet also benefits your mind as well as your body.

These are just a few basic reminders of how your body can be used to relax your mind. We often forget that our minds and bodies are intrinsically linked, and yet this knowledge is vital if we wish to create a state of balance and harmony in our lives.
